This Privacy Policy explains how the FinTechLab website (the “Website”) handles information when you visit or use it. The Website is operated by FinTechLab (“FinTechLab”, “we”, “us”), the Laboratory of Modern Financial Technologies. By using the Website, you acknowledge this Policy.
For privacy matters relating to this Website, contact FinTechLab at legal@ftlab.space. FinTechLab is an independent research laboratory. Where mandatory local laws apply, those rules prevail to the extent of any conflict with this Policy.
This Policy applies to the public Website and the interactive educational simulation hosted on it. It does not govern offline research projects, separate University systems, partner platforms, or third-party sites linked from the Website.
Browsing public pages does not require registration. If you use the Website contact form or email us, we process the content of your message, your name, organization, email address, enquiry type, and any personal data you voluntarily include, solely to respond and manage correspondence. The contact form submits over HTTPS POST to the Website; message contents are not placed in URLs. We do not use the form for marketing lists. Delivery may be forwarded to the lab mailbox or an operator-configured webhook.
The anti-fraud simulation does not request personal data, banking details, credentials, one-time codes, PINs, or payment information. Choices, timing, click behaviour, results, and experiment state are not stored, logged, or transmitted to our servers. Experiment state exists only temporarily in browser memory for the active session and is discarded when you refresh or leave the page.
The Website does not use advertising cookies or third-party marketing trackers. The browser may still apply essential technical mechanisms required for ordinary operation of a website (for example, session continuity or security features provided by the hosting environment).
No third-party analytics package is enabled on the Website as of the effective date of this Policy. If analytics are introduced later, this Policy will be updated before such processing begins.
We process email correspondence to communicate with you and to administer legitimate laboratory and University interests in research outreach and institutional communication. Where applicable law requires consent for a specific processing activity, we will obtain it before that activity begins.
Email correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, complete related follow-up, and meet applicable record-keeping or legal obligations. Simulation state is not retained by us.
We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or competent authority, or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of FinTechLab, users, or the public. Service providers that host or operate technical infrastructure may process technical data strictly as needed to provide those services.
Depending on hosting and email infrastructure, information you send by email may be processed on servers located in jurisdictions other than your own. Where such transfers occur, we take reasonable measures consistent with applicable law and University practice.
Subject to applicable law (including, where relevant, the laws of the Russian Federation on personal data), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data you have provided to us by email, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact legal@ftlab.space. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of a public research Website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please avoid sending sensitive credentials or banking secrets by email.
The Website is intended for a general research and professional audience. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children through the Website.
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above will be revised when changes take effect. Continued use of the Website after an update constitutes acknowledgement of the revised Policy.
